First Commercial Jet flew from London to Johannesburg on May 2,1952 On May 2, 1952, the British Overseas Airways Corporation (BOAC) began the world's first commercial jet service with 44-seat  Comet 1A, flying paying passengers from London to Johannesburg. The Comet was capable of travelling at 480 miles per hour, a record speed at the time. 

The Big Dipper is a large asterism consisting of seven bright stars of the constellation Ursa Major. One of them, Megrez, is of third magnitude and the rest are of second magnitude. Four of the stars make a 'bowl' or 'body', while the remaining three define a 'handle' or 'head'.  This asterism is known by different names in different parts of the world, like 'Big Dipper' in USA and Canada, 'Plough' in UK and Ireland and 'Saptarashi' in Indian astronomy. The General Sherman The General Sherman is a giant sequoia(Sequoiadendron giganteum) tree located in the Giant Forest of Sequoia National Park in Tulare County, in the U.S. state of California. By volume, it is the largest known living single stem tree on earth.

Some bacteria are actually resistant to the temperature of boiling water (100 degrees C.). To kill all the bacteria, you need to raise the temperature to about 121 degrees C. To get water to this temperature, you must heat it under pressure.

On the 10th Day of October, 2014, Malala Yousafzai, was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize, along with India's Kailash Satyarthi for their struggles against the suppression of children and for young people's rights, including the right to education. By winning the prestigious award, Malala Yousafzai also became the youngest to win the Noble Peace Prize.
