The Red Fort is a large complex in the capital city of India, New Delhi. It was built by the fifth Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan. It's construction began on 12th day of May in 1639 and took approximately 9 years to be finally completed on April 6, 1648. It was the main residence of the Royal Emperors of the Mughal Dynasty for almost 200 Years! But there is an interesting thing about this historic fort. It will be a little confusing but according to many researches it's been said that The Red Fort was once White!
No, it was not completely white. Most of the inner buildings and monuments were in white colour, which later got the red colour. The outer parts of the fort were always red.
