What is the fastest Internet speed ever recorded?

In May, 2020, researchers in Australia claim to have achieved internet speed of 44.2 Terabits per second, the fastest internet speed ever recorded. This unbelievable speed was achieved with the help of a single optical chip called micro-comb that replaces around 80 lasers found in some of the existing telecom hardware. The micro-comb is really tiny, about the size of a fingernail.  At this lightning speed, you can download over 1000 HD (High Definition) movies in less than a second. Continue reading to know who is/are considered the father of internet?

Who performed this test?

The lightning speed was achieved by a team of researchers from the Swinburne, Monash and RMIT universities of Australia.

Where did the test took place?

The device was planted and tested outside the laboratory with the help of using some existing infrastructure similar to that used by the National Broadband Network(NBN) of the country and is compatible with current NBN's infrastructure.

The researchers hope that this achievement will help the education, health, finance, E-Commerce industries to grow faster in the near future and for making high internet speed available for all the people in the country.

What the researcheres have to say?

Professor David Moss from Swinburne University said that Micro-combs shows that the never ending need of broadband internet connections can be met, and hopes that they come up with even better outcome in the coming experiments.

Professor Bill Corcoran from Monash university said that while Internet has seen a never-before demand in this time where most of the countries have imposed lockdowns and people are doing all their remote works from home. He says that we are currently getting a sneak peek of how the need of internet's infrastructure would look like in the next two to three years. Since the test was mainly done with the help of existing fibres and infrastructure, he believes that what lies in the ground is gonna be the foundation of the communication networks in these days and also in the future.

    1. As you can see that this post dates back to October 19,2018. The test that took place in Australia is of the past week, so it is expected that the previous record might show at the top in Google SERPs.

Nanosecond | Power of Nanosecond | Uses of Nanosecond

A nanosecond (ns) is an SI unit of time equal to one billionth of a second ( 1/1,000,000,000s). A nano-unit is 10 raised to the power -9. One nanosecond is to one second as one second is to 31.71 years. The prefix nano and time's unit second led to the formation of the word nanosecond whose symbol is given as ns. There are still two more units smaller than nanosecond, these are picosecond (1/1,000,000,000,000s) and femtosecond(1/1,000,000,000,000,000s). One thousand nanosecond will make up 1 Microsecond whereas a million nansecond is equivalent to 1 millisecond. The unit nanosecond is generally used in computers to calculate the processing time of RAM and in electrical components.

7 Random Facts that are of no use to you

Hey everyone! Hope you're having a great day. After a short break, I'm back. And I thought that one fact won't be enough. So I came up with 7 random facts that you don't need to know. 1st Fact-   What did Bruce Lee study? The largest influence on Lee's martial arts development was his study of Wing Chun. Lee began training in Wing Chun when he was yet 16years old under Wing Chun teacher Yip Man in 1957, after losing a fight with rival gang members. 2nd Fact- What does it mean to throw the baby out with the bathwater? Throw out the baby with the bath water is an idiomatic expression and a concept used to suggest an avoidable error in which something good is eliminated when trying to get rid of something bad, or in other words, losing the essential along with the inessential. 3rd Fact- Can a goalkeeper score by throwing the ball? The ball enters play as soon as the goalkeeper throws or kicks it. Once the ball is in play and is made
