What percentage of Icelanders believe in elves?

 In a survey carried out in 1998, it was seen that more than half,  54.4% to be precise, of the population of Iceland believe in Elves, or atleast believes in the possibility of their existence. 

Elves are believed to be very small, 36 inches tall atmost, have big ears, wear old-fashioned clothes and they don't wear pointy hats.Near Hafnarfjörður, roads have been diverted around boulders where the elves supposedly reside. 

The holidays are a great time of the year to see elves. They are known to be moving at the time of Christmas and New Year, looking for a new home.
